The Montessori Method has been with us longer than we think. Dr. Montessori created this method based on stimulating young children by directing their learning towards freedom with boundaries, adapting their environment, or study and play area, through design.
The main goal of this revolutionary method is to bring out the maximum potential in each child, creating physical, academic, emotional, and social skills. Montessori creates experiences thinking about the little ones, encouraging fun in the learning process.
For this method to be effective, the environment must be fully adapted: classroom, study room, teaching materials… In other words, furniture designed and adapted for the children of the future is necessary.
The new generations are digital natives. Children who are accustomed to receiving a multitude of stimuli in seconds, through mobile devices at their disposal. Adapting the space to their development involves creating functional and interactive spaces that encourage teamwork, where form and color take center stage.
At Federico Giner, we bet on the future by creating furniture designed for them. Unique designs that allow both children and adults to let their imagination soar. Our years of experience and our daily work face many challenges, all with great enthusiasm.
Now, we all share a common goal: to defeat COVID-19. It may seem difficult to face each day, in this confinement, with young children who need to keep learning and studying, and who see it as a little holiday. That’s why, today, from our blog, and following Montessori guidelines, we leave you a series of activities for the little ones at home. They will not only awaken various skills in them, but will also give you a little help at home:
Pick up toys and organize them. As simple as necessary, not only to keep the house tidy, but also to teach them the importance of this task, giving value to the activity.
Prepare simple recipes. Family fun while fostering creativity. Let them get their hands dirty! Now, it doesn’t matter, when the goal is to have fun together.
Fold clothes and store them properly. What may seem mechanical and boring to us, for the little ones will be an entertaining activity that will improve their coordination.
Sort the trash for recycling. A simple way to teach them what they already do in the classroom. Distinguishing materials and recycling them.
Learn and play, two words that children teach us day after day, especially in these times, where they are the ones who help us the most to get through quarantine in the best possible way, simply with their smile. It’s time to face new challenges to return to the classrooms with the same enthusiasm we’ve had for so many years. That’s why, and to achieve this as soon as possible, #STAYATHOME.
